Photography

Proper digital access to the collection requires high-quality digital photographs. Photographing each object is intensive but rewarding work! The photos give us an immediate and clear picture of what the object looks like, what condition it is in and how big it is. It's a win-win situation, because now we can provide a clear picture to public service staff or image requesters in the blink of an eye.

OPEN COLLECTIONS

In 2016, the “FAIR Guiding Principles for scientific data management and stewardship” were published. FAIR principles are intended to improve the findability, accessibility, interoperability and reusability of digital data. FAIR is an acronym that stands for Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (reusable).

These principles form the basis for the Yper Museum's open data policy. “Maximum sharing” means that all data (visual material, collection data, databases) is publicly available. The Yper Museum team is working hard to achieve this.
